Come learn how to make pasta like a tiny Italian Nonna (or Nonno) from Carmella - the owner of Melina's Fresh Pasta. All classes are hands-on and we eat what we make!
Learn some traditional pasta and sauces of Naples, Italy. We will begin with making a fresh egg pasta dough.
Next, you will learn how to roll the dough out into thin sheets to cut it into Linguine & Malfadine and shape it into Paccheri - a tube shaped pasta.
Carmella, owner of Melina’s Fresh Pasta will demonstrate how to make 3 traditional sauces from Naples (Napoli) Italy:
Puttanesca Sauce - A mildly spicy sauce made with tomaotoes, capers and olives
Alla Nerano - From the Amalfi Coast near Naples & made famous by Stanley Tucci - a creamy fried zucchini sauce
Allo Scarpariello - A fresh cherry tomato sauce with pecorino romano cheese
We will cook up the pasta together for a tasting at the end of the class. Note: This is typically enough pasta for a light to medium sized meal.
